Cookie Policy
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy refers exclusively to the website of Castello di Solomeo Società Agricola Semplice (www.castellodisolomeo.com, hereinafter the “Site”) and must be regarded as an integral part of the Website’s Privacy Policy.
2. Definition, characteristics, and applicable regulations regarding cookies and similar technologies
A “cookie” is a small text file that may be stored in a dedicated space on the hard drive of the device used by the user (e.g., computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when visiting a website through their browser and may require the user’s prior consent before being installed. Through cookies, a website can remember the user’s actions and preferences (such as login details, chosen language, font size, display settings, etc.) so that they do not need to be re-entered when the user returns to the site or navigates from one page to another. Cookies are therefore used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring, and storage of information regarding users’ activities on a website. They may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking of the user’s navigation within the site for statistical or advertising purposes.
While browsing a website, the user may also receive cookies from sites or web servers other than the one they are visiting (so-called “third-party cookies”). Certain operations could not be performed without the use of cookies, which in some cases are therefore technically necessary for the proper functioning of the site.
There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and they may remain on the user’s computer or mobile device for different periods of time: session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device until a predetermined expiration date.
Under applicable law, the use of cookies does not always require the user’s express consent. In particular, “technical cookies” do not require consent, meaning those used solely to carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. In other words, these are cookies essential for the functioning of the site or necessary to perform activities requested by the user.
Among technical cookies that do not require express consent, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see the “Simplified Arrangements to Provide Information and Obtain Consent Regarding Cookies” measure of May 8, 2014 – hereinafter “Measure” – and, most recently, the “Guidelines on Cookies and Other Tracking Tools” of June 10, 2021 – hereinafter “Guidelines”) also includes:
- first-party and third-party statistical or analytical cookies, provided tools are adopted to reduce the identifying power of cookies and the third party does not cross-reference the information collected with other data already in its possession, used to collect aggregated information on the number of users and how they visit the site;
- navigation or session cookies, whose deactivation compromises the use of services available on the site;
- functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (e.g., language, products chosen for purchase) to improve the service provided.
Conversely, for “profiling cookies,” meaning those aimed at identifying the user’s preferences to improve and personalize their browsing experience and/or show marketing communications aligned with the preferences expressed during navigation, as well as for third-party statistical or analytical cookies where tools to reduce their identifying power are not adopted and the third party cross-references the information collected with other data already in its possession, the user’s prior consent is required.
- Types of Cookies Used by the Website and Options for (De-)Selection
Please note that the Website uses the following cookies, which can be individually deselected (as specified below in the section “Cookie Settings”):
- Technical navigation cookies: These cookies allow the Website to function properly and enable the display of its content; disabling them would result in malfunctions of the Website. Technical navigation cookies also include session and functionality cookies, which are used to activate specific features of the Website and configure it according to your choices (e.g., language settings, etc.), in order to improve your browsing experience.
- Analytical or statistical cookies, both first-party and third-party: These cookies are not essential for the Website’s operation and allow the Data Controller to perform statistical monitoring of Website usage by visitors and analyze traffic to and from the Website. These cookies enable the Data Controller to carry out statistical analyses aimed at improving the Website and simplifying its use, as well as monitoring its proper functioning.
Please note that the aforementioned third parties process personal data as data processors on behalf of the Data Controller, pursuant to specific data processing agreements under Article 28 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. The third parties listed below, with links to their respective privacy policies, typically also act as independent data controllers for the data collected through the cookies they set; in such cases, the user provides or denies consent directly to the owner of the relevant cookie, to which the Website merely refers. The management of information collected by third parties is governed by their respective privacy policies, which we kindly ask you to consult. For your convenience, the links are provided below:

3. Additional Tracking Tools Used on the Website
Please note that the Website also uses tracking tools that are not technically classified as “cookies” under the Guidelines. Specifically, the Website uses Google Tag Manager. The use of this tracking tool by the Data Controller is subject to the user’s consent for the installation of analytical cookies on their device, as listed in the table in the previous section. This tool enables the analysis and classification of information collected through active tracking tools by means of specific “tags.”
Further information about Google Tag Manager is available at the following link:

4. Cookie Settings
The user can select or deselect which cookies and/or tracking tools to authorize through the dedicated pop-up located at the bottom left of the screen. The user can also authorize, block, or delete (in whole or in part) cookies using the specific functions of their browser. To disable these cookies or obtain more information on how to set preferences for the use of cookies through your browser, please refer to the relevant instructions:
Important notice: Please note that disabling technical cookies may result in the inability to use the Website and view its content. Disabling functionality cookies may cause certain services or specific features of the Website to become unavailable or not function properly, and the user may be required to modify or manually enter some information or preferences each time they visit the Website.
Failure to authorize the other cookies listed will not affect the functioning of the Website; however, for third-party cookies—since these types of cookies are sent exclusively by third parties and the Website Owner cannot control the transmission of such cookies to the user’s device—any objection must be exercised by accessing the consent forms provided by the aforementioned third parties, if available, or through the settings of your browser. Links to the privacy policies and any consent forms prepared by third parties that send cookies through the Website are provided in the section “Types of Cookies Used by the Website.”
As for cookies sent directly by the Website operator, in addition to the procedure available on this page, the user may block or delete (in whole or in part) cookies through the specific functions of their browser (see above for details).
The choices made by the user regarding the Website’s cookies will themselves be recorded in a dedicated technical cookie, with the characteristics listed in the relevant cookie table.
Please note that the user’s cookie preferences must be reset if different devices or browsers are used to access the Website.
