Cookie policy

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy refers exclusively to the website of Castello di Solomeo Società Agricola Semplice (www.castellodisolomeo.com, hereinafter the “Site”) and must be regarded as an integral part of the Site’s Privacy Policy.

2. What are the cookies?

A "cookie" is a small text file that may be stored in a designated space on the hard drive of the device you use (e.g. computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when visiting a website through your browser and that may be subject to your prior consent before being installed. Through cookies, a site remembers your actions and preferences (e.g. login data, chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be specified again when you visits the site next or browses from one page to another. Cookies, therefore, are used to perform computer authentication, monitor sessions and store information regarding the activities you carry out when accessing a site and may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking your browsing within the site for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing a site, you may also receive on your computer or mobile device cookies from sites or web servers other than the one you are visiting (so-called "third-party" cookies). Some operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which are therefore in some cases technically necessary for the functioning of the Site itself.
There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these may remain on your computer or mobile device for different periods of time: e.g. session cookies are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; persistent cookies remain on your device until a set expiry date.
According to the applicable legislation, your express consent is not always required for the use of cookies. In particular, your consent is not required for the so-called "technical cookies", i.e. those used for the sole purpose of sending a communication over an electronic communication network or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by you. These are, in other words, cookies that are indispensable for the functioning of the site or, in any case, necessary to perform activities that you have requested. Among technical cookies, which do not require express consent for their use, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see the provision: Identification of simplified procedures for the information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies of 8 May 2014 - hereinafter only "Provision" - and, most recently, the Guidelines concerning cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021 - hereinafter only "Cookie Guidelines") also includes:

  • first-party and third-party statistical or analytical cookies, if tools that reduce the identifying power of the cookies are put in place and if the third party does not cross-reference the information it has collected with other information already in its possession, are used to gather information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how these users visit the Site;
  • browsing or session cookies, the deactivation of which could compromise the use of services accessible by logging in;
  • functionality cookies, which enables you to browse according to a number of selected criteria (e.g. language,) in order to improve the service provided to you.

On the other hand, for "profiling cookies", i.e. those aimed at identifying your preferences in order to improve and customise your browsing experience and/or to send you marketing communications in line with the preferences shown during browsing, as well as for third-party statistical or analytical cookies, if tools to reduce the identifying power of the cookies are not put in place and the third party cross-references the information it has collected with other information already in its possession, your prior consent is required.

3. Types of cookies used by the site and possibility of (de-)selection

Please note that the Site uses the following cookies, which can also be individually de-selected (as specified in the "Cookie settings" section below):

  • technical " browsing " or " session " cookies: these cookies enable the Site to function properly and allow the users to view its contents; deactivating them would lead to the malfunctioning of the Site; technical cookies also include functionality cookies, which are used to activate specific functions of the Site and to configure the Site according to your choices (e.g. language) in order to improve your browsing experience;
